Expression Pattern :

Primary Identifier  Expr8310 Remark  Picture: Figure 4.
Subcellular Localization  Wild-type animals displayed in their body-wall muscles a spotted pattern reminiscent of the repetitive sarcomere architecture, resembling that observed in reporter gene analysis. No staining was detected in dyc-1(cx32) mutants, suggesting that the antibody specifically recognizes the DYC-1 protein. Double-staining experiments were performed with the anti-DYC-1 antibody and the MH24/anti-DEB-1 antibody. A detailed analysis of the pattern confirms, as observed for the DYC-1-GFPX protein, that the DYC-1 signal is located at the margins of MH24 labeled dense bodies, the C. elegans counterparts of vertebrate Z-disks. Therefore, DYC-1 seems to localize at the edges of dense bodies and might be associated with these muscle attachment structures.
