Expression Pattern :

Pattern  VBH-1 antibody staining showed the same localization in oocytes and embryos as observed with the VBH-1:GFP fusion (Expr11852). VBH-1 was observed throughout both the hermaphrodite and male gonad. In the male gonad, VBH-1 was observed in primary and secondary spermatocytes but not detected in mature sperm. Primary Identifier  Expr11853
Subcellular Localization  VBH-1 was expressed in P granules throughout the gonad, and also diffusely in the cytoplasm. VBH-1, however, was not detected in the P-body-like particles.

Gonochoristic organism that can produce male gametes. male male organism WBbt:0007850
Multi-cellular organism that can produce both male and female gametes. hermaphrodite hermaphroditic organism WBbt:0007849
Embryonic cell that has the developmental potential to generate a germ cell. germline blastomere   WBbt:0008448
Embryonic cell which descends from the same parent cell as a germline blastomere. somatic blastomere   WBbt:0008447
A diploid immature germ cell which forms in the gonad when a spermatogonial stem cell buds off from the rachis to form a single cell that quickly enters metaphase I and divides to form secondary spermatocytes attached to a residual body. primary spermatocyte   WBbt:0008591
A haploid immature germ cell which forms in the gonad by the division of a diploid primary spermatocyte. It undergoes a second meiotic division to complete meiosis, at which time the daughter cells detach from the residual body to become spermatids. secondary spermatocyte   WBbt:0008592
