Expression Pattern :

Pattern  Approximately two times more hoe-1 mRNA was observed in wild-type worms relative to glp-1(e2141ts) mutant worms. Quantitative real-time PCR analysis of the quantity of hoe-1 mRNA in adult glp-1(oz112) animals revealed a threefold to fourfold increase as compared to wild-type adults. Thus, the level of hoe-1 mRNA roughly correlates with the extent of proliferation of the germ line. Primary Identifier  Expr2875
Remark  Type: quantitative, real-time PCR analysis using RNA derived from adult wild-type worms, adult glp-1(e2141ts) mutant worms, which do not produce a germ line when grown at restrictive temperature, and adult glp-1(oz112) animals, which have a tumorous germline phenotype where germ cells never leave the mitotic cell cycle. If hoe-1 is expressed in the germ line, less hoe-1 message was expected to be seen in the glp-1(e2141ts) sample of RNA.
