WS294

Intermine data mining platform for C. elegans and related nematodes

RNAi :

WormBase ID  WBRNAi00081751 Genotype  GFPalpha-tubulin
Phenotype Remark  Centrosome maturation is abnormal. Centrosomes separate normally, but the separated centrosomes collapse together, therefore AIR-1 is required to maintain centrosome separation during spindle assembly. The mitotic centrosomes in air-1(RNAi) embryos organize fewer MTs than in wild-type, also indicative of centrosome maturation.

Identifier Name Description
WBPhenotype:0001903 centrosome biogenesis variant Animals exhibit variations in the formation, maturation or disassembly of the centrosome (a subcellular body consisting of two centrioles embedded in a protein matrix). The centrosome serves as a microtubule organizing center as well as a regulator of cell-cycle progression.
