Description  Cessation of development during the final two stages in embryogenesis, 'early pretzel' stage and 'late pretzel' stage, just prior to hatching. The animal now is folded into four lengths within the eggshell and resembles a pretzel. By early pretzel stage, the head begins to move independently from the body (Wormatlas).
