Description  Animals do not respond with sleeping behavior induced through the EGF pathway. The EGF-induced sleep pathway is thought to represent a distinct molecular pathway from developmentally linked sleep. The EGF-induced sleep state occurs in two contexts: by overexpressing the EGF ortholog (LIN-3C), or by EGF signaling after stress (such as temperature elevation) in wildtype animals.
