Expression Pattern :

Primary Identifier  Expr11528 Subcellular Localization  The subcellular localization of USP-46 was analyzed in VNC interneurons by examining the distribution of an mCherry-tagged version of USP-46 (mCherry::USP-46) expressed under the control of the glr-1 promoter. mCherry::USP-46 is localized to discrete puncta in the cell body and is present in the VNC in which it is localized both diffusely throughout the cytoplasm and to punctuate structures. These mCherry:: USP-46 puncta do not overlap extensively with GLR-1::GFP in the VNC, consistent with other potential roles for USP-46 in neurons and the transient nature of enzyme-substrate interactions. Nevertheless, these results are consistent with the idea that USP-46 is present in the cell body and the VNC in which it could function to regulate GLR-1 abundance.
