| Remark | Transgenic lines derived from the fkb-4 injection failed to produce a detectable expression pattern following beta-galactosidase staining. A second construct was therefore assessed that included the first intron and part of the second exon of fkb-4, but again no detectable expression pattern was observed following the increased concentration of the injection construct or by applying sensitive staining methods. These observations indicated that the fkb-4 promoter regions examined generated transgenic expression at a level below the sensitivity of this reporter assay. |
