Subcellular Localization | PLK-1 is distributed in a uniform manner in the cytoplasm just after meiotic exit. PLK-1 distribution becomes asymmetric shortly thereafter, with more protein present on the anterior side of the embryo. This asymmetry persists throughout the one-cell stage and until the end of the two-cell stage. Line scans quantifying pixel intensities confirm these observation. These antibodies also label centrosomes, the midbody and kinetochores. |
