Expression Pattern :

Pattern  CEP-1 is abundant in mitotically dividing distal germ cells. Upon the entry into meiotic prophase in the transition zone, CEP-1 protein is completely absent. CEP-1 reappears in late meiotic pachytene cells and remains up to the diplotene/early diakinesis stage. Primary Identifier  Expr3468
Remark  Gene_regulation: There is a reciprocal relationship between CEP-1 and GLD-1 protein levels, as CEP-1 is only high where GLD-1 levels are low, consistent with the hypothesis that GLD-1 might repress the translation of cep-1 mRNA. Subcellular Localization  Subcellularly, CEP-1 is localized to the nucleoplasm and the concentration and/or localization of CEP-1 is apparently unaffected by ionizing radiation.
