Expression Pattern :

Pattern  In embryos and in mitotic cells of the gonad, SCC-3 was found dispersed within nuclei. Beginning in the transition zone and most clearly in pachytene, linear structures were highlighted by the antiserum. Double immunostaining for SCC-3 and its putative partner REC-8 showed that the two proteins colocalize on pachytene bivalents. In diplotene to diakinesis, SCC-3 was localized within nuclei but was not detectable on bivalents, although REC-8 outlines the axes of bivalents at these stages. SCC-3 was not detected on condensed mitotic chromosomes. Primary Identifier  Expr2676
Remark  As a control, gonads depleted of SCC-3 were immunostained for SCC-3. Staining was negative in these nuclei, in contrast to histone H1 immunostaining, which was done as a positive control. Subcellular Localization  Expressed in nuclei.
