SAS-6 also colocalized with SAS-4 in sperm. Immuno-EM on embryos from wild-type hermaphrodites prepared by high-pressure freezing/freeze substitution confirmed the result. In sections containing centrioles, gold particles were observed associated with the centriolar cylinders. The combination of light microscopy and EM analysis indicates that SAS-6, like SAS-4 and SAS-5, is a bona fide centriolar protein. |
