| Subcellular Localization | CeCENP-C is first detected in nuclei and on condensing chromosomes during prophase. During most of prophase, CeCENP-C localize to a patchy stripe that runs along the chromosome. By late prophase/prometaphase localize to two stripes on opposite faces of each chromosome. At metaphase, CeCENP-C localize to opposite sides of the metaphase plate. The protein remain associated with chromosomes from prophase through telophase. |
