Transcripts enriched in Gonadal_sheath_cell according to single cell RNAseq. Genes that pass the Bonferroni threshold for multiple comparisons (q < 0.05) are significantly enriched. WBPaper00061651:Gonadal_sheath_cell_enriched

4 Expression Patterns

Remark Reporter Gene Primary Identifier Pattern Subcellular Localization
Expr14483   sorb-1::gfp was strongly expressed in all body wall muscles, where the protein tagged with green fluorescent protein (GFP) localized to adhesion plaques between myocytes and to dense bodies. SORB-1::GFP was also observed in muscle arm attachment sites at the nerve ring, where protrusions from head muscles form contacts with the basement membrane (White et al., 1986). SORB-1::GFP was also observed in all nonstriated muscles of C. elegans with the exception of the pharynx, localizing exclusively to integrin adhesion sites. Fluorescent signal localized strongly to the origins and insertions of the vulval and anal depressor muscles as well as to the spicule-associated and diagonal muscles of the male tail. In myocytes more closely resembling vertebrate smooth muscle, such as the uterus, stomatointestinal muscle, and proximal gonad sheath, GFP signal was present in small puncta present throughout the tissue).
Expr13977 In hermaphrodites, expression of Pddo-3::mCherry was observed in the excretory pore cell from the late embryonic stage, in head tip cells from larval stage L3, in vulval cells from L4, and in hypodermal cells and proximal gonadal sheath cells from the adult stage.
Expr12659 Troponin I (TNI) is expressed in the C. elegans somatic gonad and colocalizes with non-striated actin networks. TNI is expressed in the myoepithelial sheath and is localized to nonstriated actin networks. In dissected gonads from wild-type worms, TNI was specifically expressed in the myoepithelial sheath that surrounds oocytes in the proximal gonad but not in the spermatheca, oocytes or distal arm containing non-myoepithelial sheath, germline cells and distal-tip cell. TNI colocalized to non-striated networks of actin filaments in the myoepithelial sheath.
Expr12660 Troponin I (TNI) is expressed in the C. elegans somatic gonad and colocalizes with non-striated actin networks.
