Expression Pattern :

Pattern  klp-17 RNA is expressed quite specifically in the nucleus of the cells during C. elegans embryogenesis. The nuclear expression of klp-17 appears as early as the one-cell stage embryo, and it continues through 2-cell and 4-cell stages, very strongly. Hybridization signal remains fairly strong during subsequent development, including the cell proliferation and morphogenesis. Primary Identifier  Expr982
Remark  Several control experiments were conducted to ascertain the specificity of the klp-17 hybridization signal. Removing the klp-17 probe, and using only the bluescript vector as a probe does not stain the nuclei. On the other hand, when klp-3 cDNA, encoding for a different C-terminus kinesin was used as a probe, the hybridization signal was observed in the entire cytoplasm, with little or no signal seen in the cell nucleus. Subcellular Localization  nucleus
