Expression Pattern :

Primary Identifier  Expr3766 Remark  Antibodies raised to an N-terminal peptide of SEA-1 recognized a 43 kDa band in Western blots of wild-type embryonic extract, in agreement with the predicted size of SEA-1. This band is more abundant in extract made from embryos carrying the chromosomally integrated yIs61[sea-1(+)] array, which has multiple copies of sea-1(+), and is missing from sea-1(y356) mutant embryonic extract, confirming the specificity of the antibody, the overexpression of SEA-1 from the yIs61[sea-1(+)] array, and the loss of SEA-1 in the mutant. Consistent with the Western blot, SEA-1 accumulates to higher levels in overexpressing yIs61[sea-1(+)] embryos and is absent from sea-1(y356) mutant embryos
Subcellular Localization  SEA-1 accumulates in nuclei of young embryos, as indicated by immunofluorescence experiments with anti-SEA-1 antibodies.
