Expr11519 Bma-phy-2 is expressed only in the first larval stage (microfilaria) and the early and mid L3 stages. The lower abundance of Bma-phy-2 in microfilaria may reflect a more restricted cell/tissue expression pattern. Bma-phy-2 was barely detectable in the late fourth stage larvae (L4) and adult stages.

The second stage larva. Derived from flight muscles of vector host; some development in vitro, with L1 to L2 moulting, has been demonstrated but rarely; these are often staged by hours or days post blood meal. Brugia L2 WBls:0000080
