Expression Pattern :

Primary Identifier  Expr1362 Remark  No detail description on cellular expression patterns.
Subcellular Localization  By immunofluorescence microscopy, the affinity-purified serum recognized an epitope that transiently associates with spindle poles late in mitosis, apparently beginning in late anaphase and extending through telophase. Centrosome staining was never observed in interphase or prophase cells and only variably during metaphase. Staining at spindle poles appeared as one or two discrete dots at the very center of the centrosome, with two dots generally being present during late telophase. While the antibody also recognized other subcellular structures, only the centrosomal staining was deemed to be specific. Thus, ZYG-1 appears to associate predominantly or exclusively with centrosomes in a transient manner. That ZYG-1 localizes as one or two highly focused dots, a distribution suggestive of centriolar association, indicates that the timing of ZYG-1 localization coincides with centrosome duplication.
