Expression Pattern :

Primary Identifier  Expr2680 Subcellular Localization  The timing of SYP-2 localization with chromosomes corresponds well with the timing of assembly and disassembly of the synaptonemal complex. The first few nuclei entering meiotic prophase contain a single bright focus of SYP-2 and are followed by nuclei that contain two or more foci. Later within the transition zone, short stretches of SYP-2 are observed instead of foci. Upon entrance into and throughout the pachytene stage, SYP-2 localizes in a continuous fashion at the interface between paired and aligned homologous chromosomes.
