Expression Pattern :

Primary Identifier  Expr4219 Remark  DGN-1 antibodies show no detectable staining of muscle, although DGN-1 is present in the epithelium immediately adjacent to muscles. Staining was not detected in body wall, pharyngeal or specialized muscles of the alimentary and reproductive systems.
Subcellular Localization  In pre-morphological embryos, DGN-1 is diffuse around the surface of outer ectodermal cells before basement membranes form, but begins to polarize towards basal surfaces as basement membranes assemble between germ layers. Throughout subsequent development, DGN-1 localizes to the basal surfaces of pharyngeal, gonadal, rectal, vulval and excretory cell epithelia, in close apposition to the underlying basement membrane. DGN-1 accumulation is more variable in the hypodermis and neurons.
