Expr4442 T23D8.1 is expressed in a few cells in the nerve ring, putatively identified as neurons. In addition, there is also expression in the intestine, in one cell on the ventral side of the terminal pharyngeal bulb and two cells around the anus.
Picture: Figure 5a, 5b..   Expr8586 Transgenic C. elegans expressing the cuti-1::gfp translational transgene (WT030) displayed GFP expression in the developing hypodermis of mid- and late-stage embryos. GFP expression was also observed in the epithelia throughout development until the fourth-stage larva. At no time was GFP observed in adult stages. Expression was seen exclusively in the cytoplasm of the hypodermis, in the vulval and anal epithelium, and in the excretory pore. Strong expression was also observed in the seam cells and at the seam cell boundary. All of these tissues are covered by cuticle or involved in cuticle synthesis and secretion. Within the hypodermis, GFP expression was observed at small discrete points, possibly corresponding to vesicle-like structures.
Expr13873 Bright fluorescence was detected in post-gastrulating embryos in regions corresponding to intestinal cells and the dorsal body wall muscle quadrant. Expression continued throughout all larval stages and into adulthood in most tissues except for the gonadal cells. By mid L4, GFP fluorescence was visible in intestinal and muscle cells, with concentrated regions within the pharyngeal and vulval muscles. There was an obvious change in the expression pattern of young adults as fluorescence decreased in the anterior head and posterior tail regions, but the intestine, pharynx and particularly the spermatheca continued to exhibit bright reporter expression. Fluorescence was equally observed in the excretory system within structures resembling the excretory gland cells, the intestinal-rectal valve and anus. Interestingly, no expression was observed in the male gonad.
Expr9183 UEV-1 is broadly expressed in the pharynx, neurons, muscle cells, vulva, embryos, intestine, and in the anus/tail. We found strong expression in the distal tip cell. We also found expression in the motoneurons that line the ventral cord. We noted that the UEV-1::GFP chimeric protein is localized diffusely throughout the cytosol of most cells, but with some enrichment in the nucleus.
Picture: Figure 2, Fig. S2BE.   Expr8581 The expression of genomic magi-1::gfp and magi-1::rfp chimeric transgenes, which contain 4 kb of upstream sequence and either the complete magi-1 ORF or only the genomic magi-1 long isoform sequences, yielded similar results The magi-1L:::gfp reporter transgene reflects the expression of the long isoform. Expression of MAGI-1L::GFP was detected in the pharynx, head neurons, ventral cord, and vulva of animals mosaic for the extrachromosomal array. Expression of MAGI-1L::RFP was also detected in the pharynx, intestine, vulval epithelia (L4 stage), and vulval muscle (adult stage) of animals mosaic for the extrachromosomal array. This antibody labeled both neurons and epithelial junctions in immunofluorescence experiments. Within the hypodermis and intestine, there was a high degree of colocalization between MAGI-1 and DLG-1. The anus and vulva also were labeled in larval and adult animals. Finally, MAGI-1 expression was observed in some neurons in the head, including a subset of the GLR-1::GFP-expressing command interneurons. MAGI-1 is expressed in the backward but not the forward command interneurons; MAGI-1 expression was not detected in any of the mechanosensory neurons. MAGI-1 was detected in the neurons AVA, AVD, and SMD, as well as RMD and RMDV. Anti-MAGI-1 antibody detected MAGI-1 localization to puncta along the ventral cord; however, MAGI-1 is expressed in more neurons than just those that express GLR-1, making analysis of colocalization in the ventral cord difficult. To help restrict the analysis to the GLR-1-expressing neurons, both MAGI-1 isoforms were expressed as mRFP chimeric proteins under the glr-1 promoter; both substantially colocalized with GLR-1.
Picture: Figure 3.   Expr8736 pF55H12.4::GFP expressed in hypodermis, vulva, anus, and to a lesser extent pharynx. Hypodermal expression was highly variable and was strongest in L4 and Adult stages.
Other strains-- UL1009, UL1015, UL1012   Expr2035 Very strong diffuse expression is seen throughout the pharynx of larval and adult stages. In young larvae expression is also seen in cells along the body of the worm (probably hypodermal seam cells), and in a few cells of the anal region.
No GO_term assigned.   Expr17 Expression first becomes evident at the first larval stage, L1, when the head body-wall muscles and an unidentified cell(s) in the anal region harbour stain. The anal staining lasts only until L2/3, whilst the head muscles continue showing expression right through to adulthood. The expression pattern includes a further component in the vm1 cells associated with the vulva. These specialised muscle cells attach to the ventral hypodermis and the vulval labia, and are important in opening the vulva during egg-laying. Expression here is transient, seen only for a short time around the L4 to adult molt. All components of the expression pattern are non-nuclear localised. The nuclei of the vm1 vulval muscle stain up, as do body wall muscles in the head. Vulval staining can be seen L4-young adult, with the head muscles staining earlier al ~L1-L3. Expression is non-nuclear localized.
Reporter gene fusion type not specified.   Expr2312 Signals were detected in some neurons (ASE, ADF, AVA, AUA, RMDV and BAG) in the head region, the anchor cell, the vulva, the cells around the anus, the body wall muscle, pharyngeal muscles in procorpus and metacorpus and distal tip cells of gonad.
Reporter gene fusion type not specified.   Expr2313 Signals were detected in some neurons (ASE, ADF, AVA, AUA, RMDV and BAG) in the head region, the anchor cell, the vulva, the cells around the anus, the body wall muscle, pharyngeal muscles in procorpus and metacorpus and distal tip cells of gonad.
Expr13426 amx-2 was localized in pharyngeal muscle, head neurons including neurosecretory motor neurons, vulva, HSN, intestine, and anus. amx-2 expression has significant overlap with grk-2 especially in the HSN and vulva.
Expr9281 glp-1p::GFP expression is observed near the excretory pore, anus, in vulval precursor cells, intestinal cells, and in a few head neurons that could not be identified due to low expression levels.
Reporter gene fusion type not specified. src-2 is called kin-22 in this paper.   Expr2314 Expressed in pharyngeal muscles, the vulva and some cells around anus.
