Life Stage :

Definition  The stage when an animal shifts from L2d larva to dauer larva. It includes the synthesis of new cuticle, cease of pharyngeal pumping during a lethargus stage, and the shed off of old cuticle. Primary Identifier  WBls:0000031
Public Name  L2d-dauer molt Ce

Expr10798 lin-31p::cfp and LIN-12::GFP are expressed in multipotent VPCs during larval (L)2 stage and before induction in the L3 stage. lin-31p::cfp expression remains high in VPCs of dauer larvae. LIN-12::GFP remains expressed in VPCs in dauer larvae.
Expr13496 Both 1st fate markers lag-2p::yfp and apx-1p::yfp were expressed as L2d larvae molt into dauer. The expression of 1st fate markers was extinguished in the VPCs of dauer larvae whereas the VPC identity markers were maintained.
