• Phenotype Remark: Disorganization of HCP-3 (centromeric protein) loading onto chromosomes. Instead of poleward localization on both sides of the metaphase plate, HCP-3 was distributed over the metaphase chromosomes in an interrupted pattern that extended throughout the spindle midzone. Another centromeric protein, HCP-4/CENP-C showed the same disorganization. In addition the outer kinetochore protein KLP-7/MCAK (a kinesin) and the conserved spindle checkpoint protein BUB-1 were loaded in a similar disorganized manner.
