WormBase ID  WBRNAi00103781 Phenotype Remark  In egg-3(RNAi) worms, normal cortical rearrangements occurred during meiotic maturation and the actin cap was indistinguishable from wild-type. However, F-actin dispersed aberrantly to the anterior side of the cortex. These experiments show that egg-3 is not required for the formation of the actin cap but is required for the polarized dispersal of the actin cytoskeleton in the cell cortex during the egg-to-embryo transition.
