WormBase ID  WBRNAi00092399 Phenotype Remark  mes-4 RNAi resulted in a loss of H3K36me3 (histone 3 lysine 36 trimethylation) and acquisition of H3K27me3 (histone 3 lysine 27 trimethylation) on genes with germline-specific expression. Alternatively, mes-4 RNAi resulted in an overall decrease in H3K27me3 of genes on the X chromosome. These genes were enriched for ubiquitously expressed and soma-specific genes. Of autosomal genes that underwent a decrease of H3K27me3, there was an enrichment for soma-specific genes. Of autosomal genes that underwent an increase of H3K27me3, there was an enrichment for ubiquitous, germline-enriched, and germline-specific genes.
