Expression Pattern :

Pattern  A functional mCherry-PAC-1 fusion protein expressed from a recombineered fosmid was detected in epithelial cells and concentrated at adherens junctions (AJs). mCherry-PAC-1 colocalized nearly completely with HMR-1, but was significantly more apical than DLG-1, which is found basal to AJs, indicating that PAC-1 is present at adherens junctions. mCherry-PAC-1 also overlapped with the more broadly localized GFP-CDC-42 at AJs. cell of epithelium, the layer of cells that cover the external surface of an organism as well as forming an inner lining between the tissues and organs of that organism and the external environment. In C. elegans epithelial cells include epithelium of the alimentary tract, intestinal cells, hypodermis, interfacial cells and somatic gonad cells. epithelial cell epithelium WBbt:0003672
