Expression Pattern :

Pattern  At the 1.5-fold stage, signal is concentrated in the region of the contractile apparatus, where it overlaps that of myosin. As development continues, the stain becomes organized into longitudinal lines of dots that roughly coincide with the striped myosin pattern. Transgene expression is not limited to body-wall muscle. In embryos, anti-GFP produces signal in areas outside the muscle quadrants. UNC-82::GFP is not detected in the regions of pharyngeal muscle cells that are occupied by thick filaments. Instead, signal is located between the bands of anti-UNC-89 stain. This location is consistent with expression of UNC-82 in marginal cells, or with localization in muscle near the cell membrane that contacts either a marginal cell or the cuticle lining the pharyngeal lumen. Primary Identifier  Expr8836
Remark  Picture: Figure 5. Subcellular Localization  UNC-82::GFP colocalizes with UNC-89, indicating that the fusion protein is present at or near the M-line. UNC-82::GFP fluorescence in the M-line region is detected throughout the depth of the myofilament lattice. The distribution of UNC-82::GFP appears punctate by antibody staining in fragmented adults, but as continuous lines when viewed by endogenous GFP fluorescence in living adults or in peroxide-tube-fixed specimens.
