Expression Pattern :

Pattern  In early larvae, this reporter was expressed in a cluster of posterior cells including rectal epithelial cells, the overlying dorsal and ventral body wall muscles, the stomatointestinal muscles, the anal depressor muscle, and P11/12, along with weak expression in several head neurons, which is largely consistent with smFISH data on egl-20 transcript localization (Harterink et al., 2011a) and previous transgenes (Whangbo and Kenyon, 1999). This reporter also labeled several posterior neurons and their projections along the ventral nerve cord that terminated in the nerve ring. Tagged Wnt protein clearly localized near reporter-labeled axons in the head. Primary Identifier  Expr14755

Definition Name Synonym Primary Identifier
neuron with cell body associated with the ventral nerve cord. ventral cord neuron ventral cord motoneuron WBbt:0005300
Longitudinal bands of muscle cells surrounding animal body, with one band running in each quadrant of the body, regulated contraction and relaxation of these muscles cause locomotion. body wall musculature body muscle WBbt:0005813
neuron with its cell body situated in the head, excluding the pharynx. head neuron   WBbt:0006751
a single, H-shaped cell which lies just above the anus and connects the roof of the anal canal to the dorsal bodywall; its contractions act to increase the size of the anal opening by lifting the roof of the rectum and hence facilitate expulsion of intestinal contents. anal depressor muscle dilator muscle WBbt:0004292
the most extensive region of neuropil in the animal, consists of a large toroidal bundle of processes. nerve ring circumpharyngeal nerve ring WBbt:0006749
intestinal muscle cell, attach to intestine and body wall anterior to anus intestinal muscle stomato-intestinal muscle WBbt:0005796
These cells include: B, F, Y, U, K' and K. All rectal epithelial cells contain secretory membrane stacks along this region facing the lumenal cuticle and produce some portion of the cuticular lining of the rectum. These are interfacial cells that connect the alimentary system to the main body syncytium. rectal epithelial cell rectal epithelium WBbt:0008182
Postembryonic blast cells for ventral cord motorneurons, ventral hypodermis, vulva, male preanal ganglion; ventral hypodermis in L1. P11/12L   WBbt:0008606
Postembryonic blast cells for ventral cord motorneurons, ventral hypodermis, vulva, male preanal ganglion; ventral hypodermis in L1. P11/12R   WBbt:0008607
