Expression Pattern :

Pattern  maternal mRNA was evenly distributed in the early embryo. By about 120min, zygotic mRNA expression began in the progeny of E cell. then progressed into the posterior hypodermal precursor cells. Starting from the comma stage, the mRNA expression localized to the hypodermis and intestine, where it continued during early larva stages. Strong expression in the developing and adult germ line. The mRNA appeared in the primordial gonads of L2-L3 larvae and continued to accumulate in the gonadal loops as they expanded in L4. The adult gonad was loaded with transcript. mRNA expressed declined in the rest of the body after L2. Primary Identifier  Expr1132

Definition Name Synonym Primary Identifier
A chain of very large cuboidal cells forming a wide central lumen in which food arrives from the posterior pharynx, is digested, and from which waste products proceed to the rectum. Intestinal rings form in groups of two and four cells surrounding the common lumen; thus the epithelium is only one cell deep at any point, with neighboring cells firmly secured to their neighbors by apical adherens junctions. These cells have very large nuclei and many large vacuoles, yolk granules, and other inclusions; the latter increase in number and electron density as the animal ages. intestine gut WBbt:0005772
