Expression Pattern :

Pattern  In general, the expression patterns found for the translational fusion constructs were similar to those reported above for the transcriptional fusions. Primary Identifier  Expr2248
Subcellular Localization  NHX-9 appeared to be associated with intracellular membranes. The NHX-9::GFP fusion protein was targeted to the excretory cell, but the labeling was patchy; in the region of the cell body, the protein accumulated in distinct, large aggregates. Three-dimensional reconstructions using confocal microscopy suggested that these aggregates occurred intracellularly and were not associated with the plasma membrane. In early stage larva, the twin excretory cell processes were labeled uniformly, whereas at later larval stages, the labeling became more restricted, resulting in a beads-on-a-chain appearance, as demonstrated by the lower right process in panel S that extends from the anteriorly from the cell body.
