Expression Pattern :

Pattern  We tested hermaphrodite samples from specific larval stages and found that the major band detected in adult males could only be detected in fourth stage larvae (L4), the only stage when hermaphrodites are actively producing sperm. The notable absence of SPE-18 in adult hermaphrodites that have spermatozoa in their spermathecas suggested that SPE-18 might function in developing and/or meiotically dividing spermatocytes but not in haploid sperm.
