Expression Pattern :

Primary Identifier  Expr4766 Subcellular Localization  Animals expressing this fusion protein were stained with anti-GFP and anti-UNC-17 (VAChT) Abs.Confocal microscopy revealed that CHO-1::GFP is present at most cholinergic synapses, beginning during embryogenesis, and persisting throughout development. CHO-1::GFP fluorescence was also observed in the neuronal cell bodies. In neuronal processes, the CHO-1::GFP was localized near cholinergic synaptic vesicles as indicated by anti-UNC-17 staining, but CHO-1 and UNC-17 did not fully co-localize, consistent with a plasma membrane localization of CHO-1. Thus a significant fraction of synaptically localized CHO-1 is not physically associated with cholinergic synaptic vesicles.
