Phenotype Remark  There was no change in sur-5::UbV-GFP reporter expression in RNAi worms after treatment with IR. In wildtype worms the expression is reduced, therefore RNAi resulted in failure to degrade UbV-GFP (protein turnover). sur-5::UbV-GFP reporter expression was assessed 24 h post treatment with 90 Gy IR. Remark  The sur-5::UbV-GFP reporter strain expresses ubiquitin with an C-terminal glycine to valine mutation fused to GFP under the control of the sur-5 promoter. It is used to assess protein turnover.
