RNAi :

WormBase ID  WBRNAi00108985 Genotype  zcIs4 [Phsp-4::GFP]
Phenotype Remark  RNAi resulted in reduced tunicamycin-induced expression of GFP from the hsp-4 promoter; "Interestingly, the observed strong impairment of the UPR-ER upon knockdown of pifk-1 (Table 1) was confirmed by qualitative analyses. The induction of hsp-4::gfp was reduced to 20% compared to control RNAi (Figure 9C). This is remarkable since at least to our knowledge PIFK-1 is the first protein which seems to be implied in signaling of UPRs in both organelles." Remark  (Table 1, Figure 9C) F35H12.4/pifk-1 RNAi

Identifier Name Description
WBPhenotype:0001278 transgene expression reduced Any decrease in the intensity of expression of a gene product produced by exogenous DNA that has been introduced into the organism compared to its expression in control animals.
WBPhenotype:0001719 unfolded protein response variant Animals exhibit variations in any of the series of molecular signals generated as a consequence of the presence of unfolded proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and or the mitochondria, compared to control. One such response is the increase in expression of chaperones.
