Following paraquat exposure, about 50% of the controls became adults until day 5. In contrast, none of the animals subjected to RNAi against atfs-1 and rpl-36 respectively reached adulthood in this time window, but 27% of pifk-1 (RNAi) animals became adult. This data indicate that RNAi against all three genes increased, rather than decreased, paraquat sensitivity (Figure 8)."
