Phenotype Remark  "To assess whether the reduced abundance of free amino acids alters protein synthesis, we quantified the synthesis of GFP controlled by the hsp-16.2 promoter. Cycloheximide, as an inhibitor of protein synthesis, diminished the apparent GFP synthesis rate by ~30%. When pept-1 was downregulated by RNAi, the GFP synthesis rate was reduced to around 50% relative to that in wild-type animals (Figure 4B).
