Gene :

WormBase Gene ID  ? WBGene00003877 Gene Name  pept-1
Sequence Name  ? K04E7.2 Brief Description  pept-1 encodes a low affinity/high capacity oligopeptide transporter; pept-1 is required for uptake of intact peptides from the intestine and thus for normal development, growth, and reproduction; genetic studies indicate that pept-1 interacts with both the daf-2/insulin- and let-363/TOR-signaling pathways to regulate lifespan and with the daf-2 pathway to influence stress response; PEPT-1 is expressed in the intestine where it localizes to the apical membrane.
Organism  Caenorhabditis elegans Automated Description  Enables dipeptide transmembrane transporter activity. Involved in several processes, including chemical homeostasis; regulation of signal transduction; and response to stress. Located in apical plasma membrane. Expressed in intestine. Used to study obesity. Is an ortholog of human SLC15A1 (solute carrier family 15 member 1).
Biotype  SO:0001217 Genetic Position  X :-2.89742 ±0.002559
Length (nt)  ? 4896

Genes with expression level regulated by genotype (N2 vs CB4856) and age at L3 larva and Late reproduction stage (96 hours at 24 centigrade). For model 2, authors used 100 permutations to estimate the FDR threshold. Per permutation, genotypes and ages were independently randomly distributed, keeping the among-gene structure intact. Then for each spot (23,232) on the array, model 2 was tested. The obtained P-values were used to estimate a threshold for each of the explanatory factors. Authors also used a genome-wide threshold of -log10 P-value = 2, which resembles an FDR of 0.072 and 0.060 for marker and the interaction age-marker for the developing worms and FDR of 0.050 and 0.065 for marker and age-marker for the aging worms. For the physiological age effect, authors used a log10 P-value = 8 in developing worms (0.012 FDR) and -log10 P-value = 6 (0.032 FDR). WBPaper00040858:eQTL_age_regulated_developing

Throughout the animal life span, the overall expression level of CPTB was consistently higher than that of CPTA. At the embryo stage, the CPTBCPTA ratio was estimated to be ~11, and this value decreased to ~ 2 at the mixed stage. See Expr1420 for CPTA expression. pep-2 = CPTB(cDNA) in this article. -- Blast result in WS80.   Expr1421 A biphasic expression pattern was seen. The expression seemed to reach a high level at the early stage (embryos), declined a little at stage of larva 1 and 2 and increased again when the animal was fully developed into the adult hermaphrodite. The relative intensities were 30.3, 4.5, 20.8 and 15.6 for the eggs, L1-2, L3-4and mixed stage animals respectively.
