• Pattern: In hermaphrodites, this reporter was expressed soon after the hDTC was born and expression persisted throughout the life of the hDTC. In males, hlh-2::GFP expression was not seen in the SGPs (Z1/Z4), but it was expressed in mDTCs after the first SGP division. Moreover, expression persisted throughout development and in adults. Therefore, hlh-2 expression is likely not sexually dimorphic.
