• Pattern: pal-1 RNA evenly distributed in 1- and 2-cell embryos. In 4-cell embryos, pal-1 RNA was either uniformly distributed (approximately 50%) or preferentially localized to the posterior blastomere. Nuclear localized transcripts were not detected before the 24-cell stage. In 6 cell and older embryo, pal-1 RNA was more abundant in cells that express PAL-1 protein.
