Expression Pattern :

Pattern  YAP-1::GFP was widely localized in the cytoplasm of several tissues in adult and larval stage. YAP-1::GFP is expressed in epithelial and muscular tissues including the seam cells, epithelial cells and pharynx muscles in a head region, the excretory tissue, hypodermal cells, gonadal sheath cells, the spermatheca, the intestine, the vulva, and hypodermal cells in a tail region. Primary Identifier  Expr10635
Subcellular Localization  YAP-1::GFP appeared in cytoplasm of epithelial cells during/after active proliferation. YAP-1::GFP was transiently expressed in nuclei of the dorsal epidermal cells during the specific development stages, which are involved in dorsal intercalation and ventral enclosure. YAP-1::GFP did not appear to be localized in nuclei of embryonic cells at the late development stage, when embryo undergoes elongation. Thus, YAP-1::GFP is likely to be temporarily localized in nuclei of embryonic epithelial cells, suggesting that the subcellular localization of YAP-1 may be regulated depending on developmental stage.

10 Anatomy Terms

Definition Name Synonym Primary Identifier
A chain of very large cuboidal cells forming a wide central lumen in which food arrives from the posterior pharynx, is digested, and from which waste products proceed to the rectum. Intestinal rings form in groups of two and four cells surrounding the common lumen; thus the epithelium is only one cell deep at any point, with neighboring cells firmly secured to their neighbors by apical adherens junctions. These cells have very large nuclei and many large vacuoles, yolk granules, and other inclusions; the latter increase in number and electron density as the animal ages. intestine gut WBbt:0005772
female genital. vulva   WBbt:0006748
an accordion-like tube that contains sperm and is the site of oocyte fertilization. spermatheca   WBbt:0005319
Epidermal layer. hypodermis epidermis WBbt:0005733
type of cells that make up muscle layers in the pharynx. pharyngeal muscle cell   WBbt:0005451
a group of hypodermal cells that lie along the apical midline of the hypodermis, at the extreme left and right sides between nose and tail seam cell lateral hypodermis WBbt:0005753
  excretory system   WBbt:0005736
five pairs of thin gonadal sheath cells form a single layer covering the germ line component of each arm, each pair occupying a stereotyped position along the gonad proximal-distal axis. gonadal sheath cell   WBbt:0005828
cell of epithelium, the layer of cells that cover the external surface of an organism as well as forming an inner lining between the tissues and organs of that organism and the external environment. In C. elegans epithelial cells include epithelium of the alimentary tract, intestinal cells, hypodermis, interfacial cells and somatic gonad cells. epithelial cell epithelium WBbt:0003672
