Life Stage :

Definition  The third sub-stage of the L4 larva. All vulval cells complete migration. vulA, vulC, and vulD undergo cell fusion. The vulval lumen has widened and a prominent kink has formed between vulC and vulD. The uterine lumen has not started to form. At 20 Centigrade: 36.8 hours after hatching, 2.8 hours from the L3-to-L4 molt. Primary Identifier  WBls:0000685
Public Name  L4.2 larva Ce

Expr16423 We were able to reproduce the NHR-85::GFP peak in expression in vulval precursor cells from L4.0 to L4.9. We also observed the reported expression in hypodermal cells as well as in seam cells. Interestingly, we did not observe NHR-85::GFP expression in the L4 or adult germline.
    Expr12298
    Expr12304
Expr12305 Only reporter in this study where expression was obviously turned off during L4.
Expr15947   The transmembrane eLRRon protein LET-4 marked all vulval apical membranes during the late L4.2-L4.7 period, and thereafter appeared intracellular.
Expr12300 Variable expression in all substages; low level of expression in B2, C from L4.1 to L4.7.
Expr12299 Variable expression in L4.1; consistent in later sub-stages.
Expr12306 Variable expression possibly due to loss of extrachromosomal array.

The second sub-stage of the L4 larva. The inner cells of the vulva have finished migrating and have formed toroids, but have not fused. vulC and vulF have divided and a narrow lumen has formed.
