Assayed in C. elegans.   Expr11950 Expression was found consistently in hypodermal cells of all lines examined. GFP expression was particularly prominent in the hypodermal cell nuclei hyp5, hyp6, and hyp7 of the head and in the pair of hyp7 cell nuclei in the tail of adult worms. Using sensitive staining techniques for the detection of b-galactosidase activity, expression was also detected in larval stages, again strongly in the head and tail regions. The lacZ expression was less pronounced in the hypodermal cells of the body, with expression being detected in the hypodermal cell nuclei hyp4, hyp5, hyp6, and hyp7 of the head. With prolonged staining (overnight at room temperature) lacZ expression was also observed in the vulval cells of the adult, which are of hypodermal origin, in the adult body wall muscle cells, and in embryonic stages.

5 Sub Stages

Remark Definition Other Name Public Name Primary Identifier
The third stage larva. Brugia L3 WBls:0000081
The first stage larva. Brugia L1 WBls:0000079
An early stage in the life cycle of Brugia species, which develops from the egg and precedes the L1 stage. Brugia microfilaria WBls:0000665
The fourth stage larva. Should be conditioned by days post infection; as moulting is not synchronous, some samples are defined as L3/L4, indicating a mix of individuals as late L3, moulting, and early L4. Brugia L4 WBls:0000082
The second stage larva. Derived from flight muscles of vector host; some development in vitro, with L1 to L2 moulting, has been demonstrated but rarely; these are often staged by hours or days post blood meal. Brugia L2 WBls:0000080
