Expression Pattern :

Pattern  From late embryo to adult can see strong expression in the procorpus and metacorpus of the pharynx as well as four cells within the terminal bulb (which may be muscle cells). Post hatching (and possibly in late embryos) can see expression in tail in the muscles linked to the rectum. Vulval-related expression is also observed as cells either side of the forming vulva in larval stages and in only the very external cells of the opening in adult stages. Primary Identifier  Expr7416
Remark  Clone: pUL#JRH/AE09

a single, H-shaped cell which lies just above the anus and connects the roof of the anal canal to the dorsal bodywall; its contractions act to increase the size of the anal opening by lifting the roof of the rectum and hence facilitate expulsion of intestinal contents. anal depressor muscle dilator muscle WBbt:0004292
a saddle-shaped muscle cell that encircles the intestinal-rectal valve anal sphincter muscle lineage name: ABprpppppap WBbt:0005798

The C. elegans life stage spanning 620-800min(hatch) after first cleavage at 20 Centigrade. Cell number remains at ~560 cells, with some new cells generated and some cells go through programmed cell death. A stage after elongation is over. The last stage of embryogenesis.
