Expression Pattern :

Pattern  In the embryo, GFP expression started during late gastrulation in hypodermal cells and was maintained throughout embryogenesis. Post-embryonically, GFP expression was most prominent in body wall muscle cells and the anal depressor muscle. Hypodermal GFP expression continued in early larval stages but excluded seam cells and declined overall during later development stages. In the nervous system, the GFP-reporter construct was expressed in a few cells in the head and retrovesicular ganglia. Primary Identifier  Expr13734
Subcellular Localization  Some GFP signal localizes to the cell surface of hypodermal cells.

neuron with its cell body situated in the head, excluding the pharynx. head neuron   WBbt:0006751
a single, H-shaped cell which lies just above the anus and connects the roof of the anal canal to the dorsal bodywall; its contractions act to increase the size of the anal opening by lifting the roof of the rectum and hence facilitate expulsion of intestinal contents. anal depressor muscle dilator muscle WBbt:0004292
Ganglion that lies at the anterior limit of the ventral nerve cord, near the ventral ganglion and nerve ring in the head posterior to the excretory pore. It is open and continuous with the region containing the motoneurons of the ventral cord. In the early L1 this ganglion holds 12 neuron cell bodies plus one neuroblast (Sulston and Horvitz, 1977; White et al., 1986). In the adult animal, the ganglion holds 20 neuron cell bodies. retrovesicular ganglion   WBbt:0005656
primary cell type that forms the hypodermis. hypodermal cell   WBbt:0007846
