Expression Pattern :

Pattern  The daf-21 promoter led to GFP expression in the excretory system, pharyngeal muscle cells and intestinal cells. Furthermore, sporadic expression could be observed in body wall muscle cells and vulval muscles. In order to confirm the sporadic expression in muscles, we constructed another reporter plasmid, containing a 2.5 kb genomic sequence upstream of the DAF-21 start codon including its first 4 amino acids fused to YFP.The fluorescent tissues corresponded to those of the stable line and the sporadic expression in body wall muscle cells was recapitulated. Additionally, fluorescence in single head neurons was observed. Primary Identifier  Expr9720

Definition Name Synonym Primary Identifier
type of cells that make up muscle layers in the pharynx. pharyngeal muscle cell   WBbt:0005451
Longitudinal bands of muscle cells surrounding animal body, with one band running in each quadrant of the body, regulated contraction and relaxation of these muscles cause locomotion. body wall musculature body muscle WBbt:0005813
muscle associated with hermaphrodite vulva. vulval muscle   WBbt:0005821
neuron with its cell body situated in the head, excluding the pharynx. head neuron   WBbt:0006751
  excretory system   WBbt:0005736
any of 20 large epithelial cells which form a tube and are mostly situated as bilaterally symmetric pairs around the tubular lumen. Each of these cell pairs forms an intestinal ring ( II-IX int rings). The most anterior intestinal ring (int ring I), however, is made of four cells. Intestinal cells contain large nuclei with large nucleoli and numerous autofluorescent granules in their cytoplasm. intestinal cell   WBbt:0005792
