Expression Pattern :

Pattern  GFP expression was observed from post-comma stage embryo to mature adult. Very strong expression was observed in the DVA neuron, and 1 to 3 neurons in the head, throughout development including the adult. GFP expression was seen in some additional tail neurons in a few individuals. Intestinal expression of GFP was observed from L3 onwards but to different levels in different intestinal cells with variation between individuals. There could have been weak GFP expression in the M cell and P lineages, but the fluorescence was diffuse rather than restricted to the nuclei, and possibly also in ventral nerve cord neurons in the adult. GFP expression was even fainter in UL4043. Primary Identifier  Expr9832

Definition Name Synonym Primary Identifier
neuron with cell body associated with the ventral nerve cord. ventral cord neuron ventral cord motoneuron WBbt:0005300
A chain of very large cuboidal cells forming a wide central lumen in which food arrives from the posterior pharynx, is digested, and from which waste products proceed to the rectum. Intestinal rings form in groups of two and four cells surrounding the common lumen; thus the epithelium is only one cell deep at any point, with neighboring cells firmly secured to their neighbors by apical adherens junctions. These cells have very large nuclei and many large vacuoles, yolk granules, and other inclusions; the latter increase in number and electron density as the animal ages. intestine gut WBbt:0005772
neuron with its cell body situated in the head, excluding the pharynx. head neuron   WBbt:0006751
neuron with its cell body situated in the tail, posterior to rectum. tail neuron   WBbt:0006759
Neuron class of one ring interneuron, cell body in dorsorectal ganglion, has a large vesicle-filled process in ring. DVA lineage name: ABprppppapp WBbt:0004823

Remark Definition Other Name Public Name Primary Identifier
The stage that begins when a C.elegans individual is fully-developed and has reached maturity. adult Ce WBls:0000041
A developmental life stage of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans that occurs from egg hatching until adulthood. larva Ce WBls:0000023
The C. elegans life stage spanning 460-520min after first cleavage at 20 Centigrade. Cell number remains at ~560 cells, with some new cells generated and some cells go through programmed cell death. The shape of embryo is elongated and double fold. A stage between 1.5-fold embryo and 3-fold embryo. 2-fold embryo Ce WBls:0000019
The C. elegans life stage spanning 520-620min after first cleavage at 20 Centigrade. Cell number remains at ~560 cells, with some new cells generated and some cells go through programmed cell death. The shape of embryo is elongated and tripple fold. A stage between 2-fold embryo and fully-elongated embryo. Also called pretzel embryo or pretzel stage. 3-fold embryo Ce WBls:0000020
The C. elegans life stage spanning 420-460min after first cleavage at 20 Centigrade. Cell number remains at ~560 cells, with some new cells generated and some cells go through programmed cell death. The shape of embryo is elongated and fold back 50%. A stage between comma embryo and 2-fold embryo. 1.5-fold embryo Ce WBls:0000018
