• Pattern: Expression of the GFP reporter gene was observed in five pairs of sensory neurons, the AWA, AWB, AWC, ASH, and ADF neurons. The AWC neurons consistently expressed GFP most brightly, the AWB neurons less well, and the AWA, ASH, and ADF neurons only weakly. When the promoter and the first 36 amino acids of the odr-3 coding region were fused to GFP, the strongest GFP expression was observed at the tip of the nose, particularly in the distinctive AWC cilia.
