Expression Pattern :

Pattern  The LIS-1::GFP fusion was observed in all major neural processes: the ventral nerve cord as well as dorsal and lateral cords and connecting commissures. Expression was noted in the region of the nerve ring and the preanal ganglion. Young adult stages showed strong expression, in particular non-neural cells including the spermathecal valve and the seam cell syncytium, as well as weaker fluorescence in the uterine wall, hypodermal and intestinal cells. Primary Identifier  Expr2420
Subcellular Localization  neuronal processes

Definition Name Synonym Primary Identifier
A chain of very large cuboidal cells forming a wide central lumen in which food arrives from the posterior pharynx, is digested, and from which waste products proceed to the rectum. Intestinal rings form in groups of two and four cells surrounding the common lumen; thus the epithelium is only one cell deep at any point, with neighboring cells firmly secured to their neighbors by apical adherens junctions. These cells have very large nuclei and many large vacuoles, yolk granules, and other inclusions; the latter increase in number and electron density as the animal ages. intestine gut WBbt:0005772
A valve tissue that connects the spermatheca and the uterus of a hermaphrodite gonad. spermathecal-uterine junction sp-ut valve WBbt:0006756
a large process bundle that runs along the vental mid-line extending from the ventral region of the nerve ring. ventral nerve cord ventral cord WBbt:0005829
Epidermal layer. hypodermis epidermis WBbt:0005733
the most extensive region of neuropil in the animal, consists of a large toroidal bundle of processes. nerve ring circumpharyngeal nerve ring WBbt:0006749
a bundle of nerve processes that runs along the dorsal mid-line of the animal. dorsal nerve cord dorsal cord WBbt:0006750
nerve cord positioned at the lateral flanks of the animal, consists of processes of the neuron classes BDU, CAN, PVD and ALA. lateral nerve cord   WBbt:0006769
ganglion anterior to the anus. preanal ganglion   WBbt:0005448
toroidal epithelial cell that make up the bulk of the uterus, four cells anterior and four cells posterior to the vulva. uterine toroidal epithelial cell ut cell WBbt:0006784
