Expression Pattern :

Pattern  GFP fluorescence is observed in several muscle cell types of the transformants, including body-wall muscle cells, terminal bulb muscles of the pharynx, vulval and uterine muscle, diagonal muscles of the male tail, the anal sphincter muscle, and anal depressor muscles. GFP expression is variably observed in unidentified neurons in the head. GFP expression first observed in body-wall and pharyngeal muscle cells in 1.5-fold embryos, approximately the time when twitching of embryonic body wall muscles begins. The corpus muscles of the pharynx did not express GFP. Primary Identifier  Expr1255
Remark  Reporter gene fusion type not specified.

a single, H-shaped cell which lies just above the anus and connects the roof of the anal canal to the dorsal bodywall; its contractions act to increase the size of the anal opening by lifting the roof of the rectum and hence facilitate expulsion of intestinal contents. anal depressor muscle dilator muscle WBbt:0004292
a saddle-shaped muscle cell that encircles the intestinal-rectal valve anal sphincter muscle lineage name: ABprpppppap WBbt:0005798
