Expression Pattern :

Pattern  Animals transformed with mfb-1p::gfp exhibit GFP fluorescence in the late embryo and through the larval and adult stages, strong expression in the head and tail ganglia, the ventral nerve cord, the tail hypodermal cells and the intestine, weak expression in some lateral neurones, seam cells and body wall muscles in some lines, and no expression in the pharynx and distal tip cells. MFB-1::GFP was prominently detected in some head and tail ganglia, weakly in the ventral nerve cord, but little or not at all in the hypodermis, intestine, seam cells and muscles. Primary Identifier  Expr3123
Subcellular Localization  In the head and tail ganglia, MFB-1::GFP was preferentially localized to the nuclei.

Definition Name Synonym Primary Identifier
A chain of very large cuboidal cells forming a wide central lumen in which food arrives from the posterior pharynx, is digested, and from which waste products proceed to the rectum. Intestinal rings form in groups of two and four cells surrounding the common lumen; thus the epithelium is only one cell deep at any point, with neighboring cells firmly secured to their neighbors by apical adherens junctions. These cells have very large nuclei and many large vacuoles, yolk granules, and other inclusions; the latter increase in number and electron density as the animal ages. intestine gut WBbt:0005772
a large process bundle that runs along the vental mid-line extending from the ventral region of the nerve ring. ventral nerve cord ventral cord WBbt:0005829
Longitudinal bands of muscle cells surrounding animal body, with one band running in each quadrant of the body, regulated contraction and relaxation of these muscles cause locomotion. body wall musculature body muscle WBbt:0005813
neuron with its cell body situated in the head, excluding the pharynx. head neuron   WBbt:0006751
neuron with its cell body situated in the tail, posterior to rectum. tail neuron   WBbt:0006759
a group of hypodermal cells that lie along the apical midline of the hypodermis, at the extreme left and right sides between nose and tail seam cell lateral hypodermis WBbt:0005753
Tail ventral hypodermis hyp10 lineage name: ABplppppppp WBbt:0004378
Tail ventral hypodermis, 8th hypodermis cell hyp8   WBbt:0004381
Tail ventral hypodermis, 9th hypodermis cell hyp9   WBbt:0004380
Tail dorsal hypodermis hyp11 lineage name: Cpappv WBbt:0004377
Preanal hypodermis hyp12 lineage name: P12.pa WBbt:0004376
The left and right lateral ganglia lie beside the nerve ring in the head. They each contain about (30) neuron cell bodies and send their neuronal processes into the ring at its posterior margin either laterally or ventrally via the amphid commissures and ventral ganglion, but form no local neuropil separate from the nerve ring. The lateral ganglia are in close contact with the lateral hypodermal cords. lateral ganglion lateral ganglia WBbt:0005105
